Manage SSH keys - Rigbox Docs

Prerequisites

Run these commands on your local machine after rig login. Signing in already registers your default key (~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub, created if you have none), so use these commands to add another key, check what is registered, or remove one. Upload a public key file ending in .pub; never upload its private-key counterpart.

Register and inspect keys

rig ssh add
rig ssh add --name my-laptop --file ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
rig ssh ls

Without flags, rig ssh add registers your default key as laptop-<hostname>. Registration is account-level: running workspaces pick up the key, and the command also sets up ssh <workspace> on this machine. See SSH access for what it writes.

Sync to a workspace

If a running workspace didn’t pick up a new key, push your keys to it and check the connection details:

rig ssh sync --workspace WORKSPACE
rig workspace ssh-info --workspace WORKSPACE

Verify the key by opening a new SSH session before removing an older working key.

Remove a key

rig ssh rm --name KEY_NAME_OR_ID

Take the key’s name or ID from rig ssh ls. Keep an alternate authorized key until you have verified access. See SSH troubleshooting if authentication fails. These commands work on your local machine only. Inside a workspace, rig ssh refuses with a one-line message: account SSH keys are never managed from a workspace.
